A Couple of News

1. On Tuesday May 27th I took Isabel to Cool Cuts 4 Kids, where a hairdresser named Nakia cut her hair. Nakia was very nice, and Isabel was happy and behaved awesome. She sat on my lap, and they put over us a cover with two holes, one for my head and one for her head. Nakia cut very nicely, only what was necessary to even the bangs and the rest of the damage I had caused. In  the meanwhile Isabel was watching a Baby Einstein DVD and distracted with all the cool colors and shapes of the store. Then Nakia gave her a pretty hairpin that we got to keep. She put Isabel on the firetruck chair and took an instant picture. Then she put the picture and a lock of Isabel's hair in a little booklet. We were very happy, we'll definitely come back! I put the booklet in Isabel's Baby Album.
2. On Thursday May 29th Isabel became officially a Venezuelan! Abuelo Ernesto was understandably quite happy. We drove to Houston and signed and picked up her Venezuelan birth certificate.

Master Baba

On May 3rd Can Baba graduated from St. Edward's University with a Masters in Business Administration!!! We are so proud of him!!!! Here are some pictures of the ceremony.

After the ceremony we took some pictures outside of the Erwin Center...

...but it was very windy!

So we went back inside.

Julio and Hakan also went to the ceremony.

After that we had a party at home with several friends. Atilla Amca was also visiting! (If you want to see pictures of the ping pong games in the garage from all possible angles, go to Can's website.)

Babbling... a lot

Today for the first time Isabel evolved from the "a" vowel to babbling. It was just sudden. It was also pretty funny. We thought we probably weren't supposed to laugh at her attempts, as she was conversing so seriously, so we had to turn our heads and laugh silently. She discovered that she could say "dadadada, igu, blablabla" and she spent the WHOLE day talking to herself. Once in a while, so that we wouldn't get accustomed to the babbling and tune it out, she would throw out a long loud wail. When she was sure to have freaked us out she would go on talking. She enjoyed it most during the car rides because we could not get away.

Rider

Isabel Deniz is ready to ride with Hakan!

Long Hair

As usual we had problems with her hair, which was getting into her eyes, and trying to trim it we left a poor sight. I believe I did the most damage, and I was almost crying for ruining her long, beautiful hair. Abuela Camena HAD told us to take her to a hairdresser. I vowed to take her to a professional from now on.
Luckily we had just taken pictures of her with her long hair, we had tried to keep it away from her face by using hair pins, but Baba thought it was too dangerous as she could swallow them. Here she is before the massacre.
